Standard Precautions in Infection Control

Storage of disinfectants during the summer months

When it comes to storing and transporting disinfectants in summer temperatures, the stability of disinfectants is of great importance.

Constant storage conditions

All BODE/HARTMANN disinfectants are strictly tested regarding storage in accordance with ICH guidelines (International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use).

This means that storage conditions of 10 to 30 °C must be maintained for the disinfectants. If these conditions are briefly exceeded or undershot in the summer or winter months, this has no negative effect on the stability of the products, as own tests during our product development show.

The disinfectants can be transported and stored for up to three days after delivery at temperatures as low as 0 °C or as high as 40 °C without any problems. Dismozon® products are an exception: these preparations should not be heated above 25 °C and under no circumstances above 30 °C.

Storage according to TRGS 510

In general, it should be noted that disinfectants are mostly classified as hazardous substances. Therefore, the requirements to be considered when storing disinfectants are essentially regulated in TRGS 510 "Storage of hazardous substances in non-stationary containers". However, no special regulations are listed with regard to storage at summer temperatures.

Use disinfectants safely. Always read the label and product information before use.
