Comparison of three different formulations for hand disinfectants regarding acceptability and tolerability: the first formulation was isopropanol-based, the second formulation was ethanol-based and the third formulation was ethanol-based and contained additional superfatting agents. Overall, the study showed a high variability in tolerance and acceptance of different formulations among participants. The authors conclude that acceptability of hand disinfectants among healthcare workers increases by giving them a choice between different product formulations.
