Albumin

Protein belonging to the group of plasma proteins which is found in

  • human blood,
  • the skin,
  • muscles, and the
  • cerebrospinal fluid.

Albumin is produced in the liver and primarily responsible for the proper distribution of body fluids. In addition, it serves many minerals, fatty acids or drugs as transporter protein.

Efficacy testing of disinfectants often includes albumin as organic load.
