Aldehydes

Family of chemical compounds containing an aldehyde group.

Aldehydes are the basic active ingredient particularly of surface and instrument disinfectants (formaldehyde, glutardialdehyde, glyoxal). Depending on their concentration, aldehydes possess a virucidal activity, i.e. they are effective against Enveloped and Nonenveloped viruses.
