Suspension test

European Norm (Phase 2/Step 1) methodology for testing disinfectants for the use in human medicine; also Standard method of the DGHM.

This test is used for the assessment of chemical disinfectants with the aim of determining the test preparation's spectrum of activity. For this, the test product is not only diluted with water, but also with organic matter.

The test demonstrates whether the product reacts with substances, such as proteins, and its activity is probably impaired. It is a quantitative test, i.e. the reduction in the number of microorganisms is determined and expressed as log10 factor.
