Bacillaceae

Family of Gram-positive bacteria. Most of these bacteria have a rod-like shape and are aerobic, i.e. they require oxygen for their metabolism. Under certain conditions, for example lack of nutrients or unfavourable temperatures, Bacillaceae develop dormant forms called endospores.
