Biocidal Products Directive

The Biocidal Products Directive (98/8/EC) regulates the marketing and use of biocidal active substances and products from the non-agricultural field (e.g. technical preservatives, pesticides, disinfectants) throughout Europe. The EC Directive was adopted in 1998; and transferred into German legislation by amendments to the Chemicals Act in 2002.
