Instrument disinfection

Disinfection of used medical instruments. The reprocessing is subject to legal regulations (Medical Devices Operator Ordinance) that are summarised in the RKI recommendation "Hygiene Requirements for Reprocessing of Medical Devices" (German: "Anforderung an die Hygiene bei der Aufbereitung von Medizinprodukten").

At the beginning of the reprocessing process, the used instrument must be cleaned thoroughly. Afterwards, depending on the type of instrument, the disinfection is carried out manually or automatedly.
