Yersinia pseudotuberculosis

Yersinia pseudotuberculosis is a Gram-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped bacterium. It belongs to the Enterobacteriaceae family.

The bacterium may elicit intestinal and extraintestinal yersiniosis, involving a broad spectrum of symptoms, e.g. enteritis or lymphadenitis.

The main transmission path is direct or indirect contact with contaminated persons or objects.
