Are there special requirements for hygiene management in endoscopy departments after the treatment of an MRSA patient?

Yes. A subsequent disinfection of the surfaces must be carried out.

Background:
After the treatment of an infected patient or a patient colonised with pathogens, the Robert Koch-Institute recommends a targeted disinfection of the treatment rooms to prevent the risk of infection of the following patients. Depending on the disease or pathogen, the targeted disinfection covers the near-patient surfaces and objects or all accessible surfaces and objects that are or may be contaminated with the pathogens.
