Microorganisms

Small, often even microscopic, living organisms; also called microbes. Microorganisms include, for example, Bacteria, Fungi, algae, or Yeasts. Viruses are not regarded as microorganisms as they cannot reproduce and do not have their own metabolism. In the narrower sense, they are therefore not considered living organisms.
