Sensitisation

Capability of the body to develop highly specific hypersensitivities to substances (allergy), for example, via skin contact. Respective warning is R-phrase (Risk Phrase) 43: May cause sensitisation by skin contact.

All aldehydes (formaldehyde, glutaraldehyde, glyoxal, etc.) used in disinfectants have a sensitising potential and may cause allergic contact dermatitis. Protective gloves are suitable preventive measures.
