Scalp, forehead, axillae, front of the chest, and the area between the shoulder blades are skin areas considered rich in sebaceous glands. These areas create a microclimate ideal for resident microorganisms to grow in large numbers. Compared to skin poor in sebaceous glands, it is more difficult to reduce the flora on skin rich in sebaceous glands.
