Since 2005, with the amendment of the German Medicines Act (Art. 52a AMG), wholesalers need to be permitted to sell medicines such as hand disinfectants, mucous membrane and wound antiseptics. This permission has to be applied for at the competent authority and is granted after an approval inspection only.
