German: Deutsche Vereinigung zur Bekämpfung der Viruskrankheiten e.V.
German Registered Association for Combating Viral Diseases.

Guidelines of the DVV

Guidelines of the DVV on testing chemical disinfectants that are intended for use against viruses in human medicine. In this, the comprehensive virucidal activity is tested. Test viruses are adenovirus, polyomavirus (SV 40), poliovirus, vaccinia virus, and BVD virus. Except for BVD virus and vaccinia virus (enveloped, test viruses for proving the virucidal activity against enveloped viruses), all viruses are nonenveloped. The suspension tests are carried out with and without the presence of organic load.

If a preparation, under these test conditions, proves to be virucidal, the same application recommendations may be claimed for other, non-tested viruses in individual cases. However, general analogical conclusions to the activity against other, non-tested viruses are not permitted.
