Green Dot

The Green Dot (German: Der Grüne Punkt) is a symbol used, for example, by DSD (Duales System Deutschland AG). DSD organises the collection, sorting and recycling of packaging from both private households and small businesses and institutions, for example hospitals, and with this fulfils the take-back obligation for the manufacturer. For the use of the sales packaging, the distributor pays a fee, which depends on the packaging's weight, volume and material.
