What is the general ruling of the Federal Office for Chemicals on the production of disinfectants?

In exceptional cases and only after receiving approval from public authorities such as the Federal Institute for Occupational Health and Safety, pharmacists can be temporarily allowed to manufacture disinfectants that are based on WHO guidelines. Production of disinfectants by non-professional medical staff will not be officially recognised. The World Health Organisation (WHO) guidance on the production of disinfectants is primarily aimed at countries that have low availability of industrially produced disinfection agents. All countries that have access to industrially produced solutions should resort to using these first.
