Salmonella Paratyphi is an aerobic, Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium of the Enterobacteriaceae family.

It is the pathogen of paratyphus (milder form of typhus).

The main transmission path is direct or indirect contact with contaminated persons or objects.
