In this study, the influence of dispensers on hand hygiene compliance (HHC) was assessed. Dispenser usability, visibility, and accessibility are the key factors influencing HHC. Standarisation alone does not have a significant impact on compliance. Proper localisation of dispensers should be an important part of multimodal interventions to improve hand hygiene.
