Tolerance and acceptability of 14 surgical and hygienic alcohol-based hand rubs

A high user acceptance plays a central role when selecting a suitable hand disinfectant

The study examined the tolerability and user acceptance of forteen different hand disinfectant. The fve-month study had four three-week phases, before and after each test period, skin dryness and irritation was examined. Additional the user acceptance and ease of use and wether a switch to the new product was desired was determindes by means of a questionnaire at the end of every study period. Sterillium was better tolerated than the tested preparations and the evaluation of the questionnaire revealed that employees wanted to continue using Sterillium for surgical hand disinfection.
