Enterobacter aerogenes is an anaerobic, Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium in the Enterobacteriaceae family.

The facultative pathogen can trigger catheter-associated urinary tract and respiratory tract infection.

The main transmission path is direct or indirect contact with contaminated persons or objects.
